Interning at CRC55.

The Chicago Recording Company studios at 55 West Wacker (CRC55) offer two internship positions per semester (a total of six only per year). If you're interested, let's see if you pre-qualify!

You must be a college student who will receive class credit for the internship. We receive lots of resumes from great people who are willing to make coffee and sweep floors in order to gain access to a recording studio. While we admire that kind of determination, we really insist that you're enrolled in college at the time of your internship.

Your primary interest must be in audio post production. CRC55 is not a music studio. You won't see a drum kit or catch Billy Corgan walking the halls. We mix radio and TV commercials, so if your primary interest is in music recording, please contact the music studios at CRC.

We need a minimum requirement of two 8 hours days a week from you, and they need to be the same two days every week. You'll arrive just before 9:00 a.m. and leave at 5:00 p.m. That's tough to do if you're a full time student, but most of our interns are in their senior year of college and need only a few classes to graduate. Their course load is light enough to accommodate the two day a week schedule.

Unfortunately, all CRC internships are unpaid. We wish the economics were different and in a perfect world all interns would be paid, but until then we try to make your CRC55 internship as rewarding as possible. Many of our previous interns have found jobs in the industry and all of them had said their internship was extremely valuable.

Interested? Please download this document. It outlines what is expected of our interns. Still interested? Please email Michael Coyle and attach a copy of your resume.
