Been to the movies lately? Then maybe you noticed the Coca Cola spot titled "Mailbox" which tells the story of students waiting for their letters of acceptance to college. Originally slated for HD broadcast only, upon completion Coke decided to run the longer version in theaters! For the sound design and mix, Michael Coyle was joined by Leo Burnett producer Bridget McHugh and creatives Eric Routenberg and Sara Block. (View the spot.)
Country singer Kenny Chesney performs solo on the beach in the newest Corona commercial from Cramer-Krasselt. Finished in HD with a 5.1 mix, the trick was to downplay the rough seas during the shoot with more subdued sounds that still matched the visuals. Producer Robyn Boardman and creatives Emily Sander and Andrew Meyer stopped by CRC55 for the final mix with Michael. (View the spot.)
Carol Riffle and Don Nelson from Chicago Creative Partnership produced a new spot for our hometown WNBA team, the Chicago Sky! "History Lesson" features some great visuals and sound design that may lead you to believe the commercial is really for a sports drink, but the voice track, provided by several Chicago Sky players, reminds you this is all about women's basketball. Short and stocky Michael will tell you: it's very intimidated recording a half dozen, six foot tall athletes! (View the spot.)
Those crazy Raisin Bran Crunch guys! Three new commercials in the campaign feature the lovable fans touring the Kellogg campus. The spots were the creative work of Mark Oostenhuizen, David Linne, Ryan Dillon and Daniel Lewis. Leo Burnett producer Ana Loncar pulled it all together. In the gallery is "Finding Sonny", Michael's favorite because it contains the John Denver song, "Sunshine on my Shoulders". (View the spot.)
